Hi , so it's a registered 98 but built 97. I think when I order parts - electronics seem to come with wrong connections generally, parts places are so hooked on getting reg and vin I now have to argue each time and say look, just look in the box round pins or flat pins ? I've had wrong tps/ coil and others . In the meantime I've ordered spring coils twice have came wrong and I have had to modify or deal with , recently had a front track bar that did not have enough of a curve in it to clear its own bracket 🫣 after market parts are a joke and parts companies don't care ! Rant over sorry , I will keep going though haha love my zj and previous XJ

I have sort of had some similar experiences

Having a '96, you MUST look at the connectors, no ifs or buts, as they differ on various 96 XJs

The spring situation is that some models are 1" higher springs, and aftermarket are confused, I got HD springs, and they measured 1" difference, but under load were the same due to the thicker wire, so that was confusing for everyone (I just fitted what they sent me)

My adjustable track bar previously made contact with the front diff cover, but I have installed adjustable control arms, which (just) gives clearance

The spring situation was they were waaaaaay to long , the parts place was like well yeah they are hd, trying to explain that hd dosnt mean they need to be long went over their heads. Parts people not understanding cars is the worst.

I had this with the springs, dealing with company reps, I got the distinct feel they were of a certain ethnic group, with whom I have found in the past tend to be "implacable", which translates they wont ****ing help you at all
