Default Front Rotor Help

2000 Jeep Cherokee

First post, did a lot of researching and a lot of searching but not seeing what I need.

Tried removing drivers side rotor last weekend, no dice. This after soaking PB blaster overnight and getting out the BFH. Looked for the star washer over the lug studs and nothing there that I can see. Looked behind the rotor and only thing I see inside of it would be the dust shield. Shouldn't cause an issue. Put back together and thought I'll look at passenger side this weekend. Same issue. Soaked in PB Blaster, got the BFH and nothing doing. I shouldn't have to remove the cotter pin and hub nut rite? Most vehicles that were 4x4 I have never had to remove that, usually just two whack with the hammer and off it comes. I banged on the drivers side rotor for over 3 hours. I also tried the big *** gear puller on that and it didn't budge which is what led me to believe there has to be something holding it but I am not seeing it.

Any help?

Heat between the lugs untill red hot then use BFH. Propane or MAPP won't get it red hot. But if that's all you have, try it.
Maybe call a local shop or even dealer to just loosen it for you. I had to do that once.

I assume you combined the BFH with the puller, those two combined usually do the trick.

This must be a rust issue, on my Tundra the rotors just fell off after removing the calipers, I don't drive on salted roads.

You assume correct. I don't know, going to throw it at a mechanic and say go for it. Just paying for labor shouldn't be too bad. One issue I found that I did not know I had was a loose wheel stud on passenger side which later became known that it was broke in fact. It is rattling around inside between rotor and hub. I have 4 lugs on just not sure I want to drive it.

Maybe paying a mechanic wouldn't be too bad. Won't be super expensive. If you don't have access to a.torch that's what I would do. Studs are easy to replace. But I have been where your at. But I had access to a torch. I didn't have to make it so hot the rotor turned red. But it sure did help. I think mapp gas may do it. But maybe not....I have no experience with it. I have even hammered the disc in two pieces before. Amazing what some rust could do. Clean up the hub before installing the new rotors. Also use anti sieze. It's your friend. Good luck to ya!

Wanted to update.

Had stud replaced yesterday at a local tire shop. 17 for stud and labor, not bad. Wanted to say though, It took 3 mechanics, a huge gear puller, and what appeared to be a 5lb hammer to get the rotor off. The manager came in and said they had to change the rotors, and I go well they are in the back of the Jeep have at it lol. They grumbled because they don't accept customer parts but did it anyway. Wanted to say thanks to everyone on here for the help. I put the new pads in after I got home and it seems ok.
