Default Front windshield washer not spraying

New to me 1998 Jeep Cherokee i6 4x4

Front windshield spray not working - wipers function properly on wipe function as well as when I pull to spray. Rear works perfectly.

My first Jeep as well, so new to maintenance and layout of the vehicle.

Any info would be appreciated.

take the cowl off, look to see if hoses are connected and spray while the cowl is off, maybe a leak...

The pump it self maybe bad. You do have 2 one for the front and one for the rear.

Default check the pump

I had the same problem. The pump is under the drivers side front fender just forward of the wheel. Have someone activate the pump while you listen for the pump humming by the front wheel. Since your rear one is working listen to that one first so you know what it sounds like, then try the front washer. If you dont hear the pump replace it. Access to the pump is through the wheel well, not under the hood. about 10 bucks in the junkyard. btw, both pumps are right next to each other in the washer fluid reservoir, they just pull out.

Also be advised that on models with the rear wiper, the pump for the windshield will be in the lower hole of the reservoir and the rear window pump in the upper one.

Had to do some troubleshooting this past weekend...
