Thinking that looks exactly like the loaner one we have at my store.
Following this thread I guess I should consider myself lucky that I have yet to have a problem pulling steering wheels.
Of course that will now all change. LOL.
As a matter of fact I am thinking of buying one cause I want to start hoarding clocksprings.
Thinking every time I go to the boneyard make sure I have it.
See a Jeep with cruise control and pull it.

slam that end with a hammer, tighten, slam etc etc
however there is an issue
too much force will mushroom the inner column end, rendering it destroyed
one way to try and avoid this is place a coin in between, it will dent right in
at the end of the day, if parts are fused to together too hard, the force required to separate them is destructive

With how discouraged you seem through your messages and how rough everyone on here is, including me sometimes lol. I wanted to remind you to eat food while your working on your XJ and drink water hahaha. If you're religious pray that you can fix this problem. Good luck and **** the bul****.

mainly wanted them for the ignition locks and "multi-function switch"

So I have 2 myself. Then raided the boneyard for all the parts needed from another Jeep for the cruise control.
Problem was I think I did not center the clockspring properly from the boneyard parts.
About a week after I installed the cruise got an air bag light.
Had to grab one from one of the columns I had. And no idea if the clockspring is good in the other column.
With the price of used ones on Ebay and thinking I could probably get them from the boneyard for about $20 thinking I should grab some for "stock". LOL.

- You guys are hysterical as I appreciate the comedy and help!!
- Ran into another problem as I cannot fit a larger bolt in that particular puller so I'll be buying my own.
- Yes the plan is to tighten then hit, tighten then hit. I'm also going to do this over a length of time so that there's constant pressure.
- I have the center nut flush on the column end to protect the threads so no need for the quarter.
- This Monday is my next day off and that's when this will all go down so stay tuned!
Yes, I CAN DOOO IIIT, lol!!

Since the weather was crappy, I wasn't able to give this a go. I'm just going to put everything back since I don't need cruise control and my winch bumper wouldn't allow for the airbag to go off anyways. However I do need the horn so has anybody done a horn bypass and hooked it up to a button or switch?

Cut the black/red wire going to the clock spring and get a momentary pushbutton switch. I added one on the right side of my wheel next to the dash vents. It even has a little horn on the button; got it from Amazon. Connect the other terminal to ground.
