Default Fuel Filter?

so ive gotten my hands on a fuel filter of a military humvee, im wondering if it will work on my xj its like 4 times smaller, about as big around as a quarter as opposed to the stock one thats about the size of a beer can. im wondering if its gonna filter enough and flow enough for it to work and be worth the time.

Really your that worried about buying a stock fuel filter that you would rather mess with trying to get a alternative to fit. Come on man...

JMO but I'd go with the bigger filter. A standard rule of thumb: a larger filter has more filtering area; filters out more debris; flows more fuel; possibly eliminates break-down caused by small filters blockage resulting in no or a very restricted fuel flow.
Think about it. If a smaller filter would work, the factory would have installed one in the first place.

no im not that worried about it its only 8 bucks but why spend the money when i got one sittin at the house thats brand new that will actually fit just right? i mean why do people do bastard packs instead of just buying a full brand new lift kit? cause it can be easier, they may have the parts on hand allready, and its cheaper with the same results. im not a cheap bastard or anything just trying to save where i can.

WITH THAT SAID THANK YOU OL'BLUE FINALLY A STRAIGHT OPINION IM GLAD SOMEONE STOPPED INFERING THAT IM A CHEAP SKATE AND GAVE A REAL ANSWER I APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH
