Fuel gauge and pump
Well here is the long story. I figure the more details i give the better. I bought a 1991 jeep cherokee laredo 4x4 automatic with a 4.0 for only 600. It started right up, no leaks, ran fine, and no rust, so I of course bout it. Now I'm stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC. So it was a heck of a drive. It was fine until I started to run low on gas. So i pulled over and it died on me on the gas stationed. Like electrical not running out of gas. So i coasted it to the pump and filled it up. until i noticed man more the 50 dollars and as soon as i noticed that there was a leak from the fuel pump. it wouldn't start up or anything. Took it to a shop and got the o ring from the pump put on properly and headed back home. Noticed on the way back home that the fuel gauge read empty even though it was full. But I knew I had it full so I just watched my miles. After I got home I just parked it. Next day it won't turn on. the starter won't crank. What do you think could be the problem with the fuel gauge, and why it wont start. Oh and of course I noticed it started to leak oil. What could i expect for 600? but I'll be happy once I get it started going again and get the fuel gauge fixed.

As far as the fuel gauge goes they could of knocked the float off when putting the pump back in, take it back to the shop and have them fix it or pull it yourself plug it in and move the float up and down to see if it is changing your gauge, check all the wiring and make sure its plugged back in. There should be a ground wire back bye the tank make sure it's tight.
