Fuel leak under hood, what hose do I get to replace it?
Hi,
I have a pinpoint hole in one of the small hoses that is leaking fuel under the hood of my 1992 XJ. Can anyone tell me what the hose is called so I can properly identify the replacement?
Thanks!

It appears to just be fuel hose, that quick connect looks like it has a barb on the back side.

They're plastic. The lines are long since discontinued. Here's a thread with some part numbers. https://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=923580
Front Return line - 52004871 superseded by 52018416
Rear Supply Line - 52004873 superseded by 52018417
Quick Connect o-ring kit - 83502745
There are plenty of aftermarket repair kits for the 5/16" quick connects (not sure the actual size of the nylon plastic tube though), and well as direct replacements. A whole new connector isn't much more than the o-rings, btw. You could replace with fuel line, or this might be an option. Double check the diameter of the nylon tube though (I don't recall if it was 5/16 or 3/8) and you'll have to carefully heat bend it to shape.

Im inclined to get rid of all the quick connectors, and clamp a fuel hose over the end of the pipe since it has a barb that you can see once the plastic stuff is gone. . Them plastic quick connectors are fragile and finicky. Fewer parts mean less parts to fail.

Thanks. This is exactly what I needed. I'm probably going to just get a full replacement line... any opinions on Mopar vs Hesco? Those are the two sites I can find with the part.

You need to be careful with MOPAR discontinued items... Some Mopar parts sites will not show unavailable/out of stock ...And even take your money before they tell you the truth... Make sure the part is actually available before the money leaves your account...

So, I verified stock and ordered part 52018417, which the site claimed was the return line. Unfortunately, the quick connect at the rail end was the wrong size, AND, the line bends the wrong way. Seems like it is actually for a different model or year.
So.... We're back to square one. Any suggestions other than a rubber fuel hose?
