Fuel Light...
How far will your rig go once the orange "needs fuel" light comes on? Mine came on the other day coming back from a buddys house and i went almost 30 miles with it on and it never sputtered. Just wondering what the typical distance is that you can drive before it actually runs out... Would be good to know if i was out lost on a trail or something lol

I don't know what the exact miles are but I do know that it is pretty darn far. My light comes on at 1/8th of a tank on my 98XJ and I can get anywhere from 30 to 40 miles on an 1/8th of a tank.

I've gone 28 miles in my 88 waggy (the distance from home to work) with the light on without running out but with my light it tends to come on going up hills when I'm just short of a 1/4 tank and then it goes back off when I level off it's frustrating I just make sure I fill up around the 300 mile mark on the trip. Most lights generally give you about another 20 to 25 miles till empty in my experience.

I believe it says 3 in the manuel. Well I thought it said 3 somewhere. But i've gone a good 30-35 miles with it on before I filled it up, and when U did the pump said 18.7ish gallons, so I still had a little over a gallon to keep on chuggin

Thats great to know. My fuel gauge on the Cummins doesnt work and hasnt ever worked, so i go off the mileage, but i have run it our before and having to pull and prime the filter and prime the injection pump is no fun at all LOL. I glad to have another gassoline powered vehicle in the driveway that gets somewhat decent mileage lol

Don't press your luck. The fuel pump is cooled by fuel. Running out of gas is very hard on your fuel pump and can reduce it's life, not to mention the gunk that is picked up and circulated when it sucks from the bottom of the tank.
I go no lower than 1/8th of a tank before fueling up.

I remember seeing some thread where you remove this restrictor in the tank and it allows you to put 25i-30 gallons in.. I don't remember where i saw it though. I also read that when you do that mod you run the risk of over filling the tank since you remove some restrictor thing
