Ok thanks, I'm going to locate a dealer near me. Had some trouble finding the part numbers for the piece. Not sure if I'm look straight at it in the manual provided above. I might be missing it. The section I need to replace for my 2001 is the piece with the quick disco which attaches to the fuel rail. If you from experience know where to locate the P/N that be great.

That's the one..from the fuel rail to the firewall. there were several p/n's referenced when I looked online..and not many pictures...it got pretty confusing and prompted me to just drive to the dealer. the correct one turned out to be p/n: 52100349AB for my 2000. I'm sure it's the same for your 01. My dealer didn't have one on-hand..it took a couple of days to get one, so you might want to call around before you make the drive. hth

only other question i really have for you, is how did you tackle taking off that quick disco. it gave me trouble when i attempted and id rather not break it off.

Cool! You might want to make sure they actually have it in stock. I attempted 2 online orders when I found the dealer didn't have it...after a day or two I received an email saying they didn't actually have one. wasted time..had to call dealer and ask them to go ahead and order it.
I sprayed a little penetrating oil in the connection, then used this style tool. Got it from Napa for few bucks. took some fidgeting, but they came off. I used the 2nd to smallest size (i think)..they are labeled. push the tool onto the line, hold it in place, then push the fuel line you are replacing into the tool, then pull the line back again. the tool will not slide off with the line. I cleaned off the nipple, then put some sil-glyde (silicon grease or vaseline or something)..just a little will do. you're trying to prevent the line from tearing the o-rings in the quick fitting when putting it back together.

Ya that's what I was looking for but the auto store was closed. So Home Depot I grabbed this stuff 10' for like $5. Inside diameter of 3/8 and a couple hose clamps.
I didn't think it would last long that's why I got a bunch. I ended up having to change it out twice in the 40 minute drive. Works for me it's in front of my shop now.
Better hose would have been able to make it with no problem

Just realized that is clear plastic tubing...I thought it was black fuel line when I glanced at it on the phone. Did you order the hard line? I'm sure you know that fuel line has about 50psi in it, and like Dan said, plastic tubing and gas don't go well together. would make me nervous....but I'm an old man.

Ya it's crappy line, worked for what I needed though. The hard line came in. It was so pretty. Didn't take any pictures though my phone was dead. But I got the special fuel line tool and it took me about 25 min by myself to swap out.

Yo bud how you end up fixing your leak i have the same issue
Hey guys. Just finished putting new freeze plugs in the XJ. Now I notice that the hard fuel line is leaking from the bracket that attaches it to the intake. Called my local dealer (who said 'good luck finding that')..apparently, the pre-bent line isn't made anymore. Anyone know where to get one? If not, was thinking of getting injector hose and using injector clamps at each end (fuel rail and under firewall). Reasonable idea? Any other suggestions? 2000 XJ 4.0. Thanks!

What's year/engine of XJ? Interestingly I have the same problem in the same place (as well as the bottom connector being destroyed by rust) and I just got my new part yesterday from www.moparwholesaleparts.com. For me it's 52100349AB as well.
