i didn't find the 'less than 1/4 tank' one. I'm a little over 1/2 tank, so any suggestions there?

Please let us know how the install goes. Some of the reviewers on Amazon had to modify the pump to make it work. Do you have a 20 gallon tank?

Siphon it out. Harbor Freight makes a cheap "liquid transfer" hose with a bulb to get it started. Walmart, autismzone etc probably have similar.

I'm not sure what size tank it has. I wouldn't figure there would be multiple sizes I guess.
I have one of them cheap siphon hoses somewhere. Just gotta find it

I've never had a problem with too much gas in my tank! Of course you can see the potential problem since the pump is mounted on the side.

I haven't had much luck siphoning to get fuel for a chainsaw or something, but parking at a favorable angle might have helped once. A really small, maybe get 6-8' of 1/4 inch vinyl tube, might be the ticket. I'm not much help...google maybe...It IS above 1/2 way up. With the front up on stands.........

Anyone know if there is a drain plug?
