Default Fuel pump help

Okay so I went yesterday and bought the damn airtex fuel pump and put it in and had a hell of a time getting it to fit. but now that it's on I thought everything was good because my gas light came on which it's never done before. so I drove it this morning and pretty much filled it up and now my fuel gauge is showing me I barely had any gas in it so now the fuel gauge reading is farther off than it was before and every time I take a turn it seems like it wants to stall out, and it has the loudest humming noise that stays on until I cut the jeep off, it's VERY very noticable, and it makes that noise the entire time I'm cranking it even if I let the fuel pump come on before I crank it. But my question is what fuel pump did you guys eventually find that worked? I just read all the post about the airtex not working for anyone and I feel stupid now haha.

any advice on what's causing these few things and what fuel pump works would be greatly appreciated.
