Default Fuel pump pressure

I am under the impression I need to change my fuel pump. I put a 96 4.0 in a 93 . I hear that 93 had 40 psi and 96 had 60? Thanks!

93 has the fuel pump on the side of the tank and the fuel pressure regulator at the fuel rail in the engine bay. The 96 has the fuel pump AND the fuel pressure regulator as an assembly (together) mounted on the side of the tank.

I believe the 93 is supposed to be around 31 PSI give or take with vac hose connected and 39 PSI give or take with it disconnected.. The 96 and newer is around 49 PSI +-5.

You are my hero! So it sounds like adding a regulator would do the trick. I am collecting parts for a ls swap, so that should work for it too?

All you really need to do is put the injectors and fuel rail used in your 93 back in ,Since your electronics are still a 93. Thats what I did when i stroked my 92 using a 96 block and head. I used the newer 96 intake and i had to change the power steering and idler setup to the 96 style since they were not the same between those years. I believe you adjust belt tension on your 93 by cranking the ps pump out then just tightening ? The newer style the ps pump in rigid and the idler adjusts the belt tension

I bought the 93 pretty much bare. It had a windshield and dash. I bought the 96 to get it on the road. The 93 was restored, and painted, but never reassembled.
