FULL AXLES
Ok, so I have this feeling (bent axle and now slight vibration) that I am going to need a new rear end, instead of re-building, what do you thing about going for all different axles in general? Extreame 4x4 favors yota axles, My buddy favors Ford out of like a 1st gen bronco, (due to the fact that you dont have to cut them down)
what do you think, (take into account i am still learning about the drive line)

you can do a ford 8.8 swap there is tons of after market support for them and its a pretty strong axle
or find a old waggy xj withe the d44 in it for a bolt in no cuting or fabing and still have tons of aft. market support

you proabaly have the D30 front i think thats what came in the XJ since the begining, i could be wrong though
full widths are going to be a lot of work so your proably better off looking in to the D44 out of a waggy or the 8.25 out a late model XJ or the 8.8 out of a explorer but that isnt bolt in either you have to make spring mounts there are kits out there for it

no they dont. spring perches and shock tabs need to be moved around.
and while your at it might as well set the angle up to match your drive line.
plus they are a 6 lug pattern and gears are a lot higher. I've owned 3 FSJ with dual D44 and they were all 2.73

what i was refering to is the XJ wagoneer should bolt right in
Rear Axles
(Note on Dana 35 axles sometimes referred to as Dana 35C - The "C" does not stand for c-clip. It stands for "custom" meaning it came from Dana unfinished.)
(Note on 8.25 axles - none of these axles were used on XJs with ABS brakes. If you have ABS, you have the Dana 35. Without ABS you could have either axle. 8.25 axles are c-clip)
Dana 35 non c-clip - 27 spline, 1.18" diameter shafts, 7.58" ring gear, 2.62" axle tube - used 84-89
Dana 35 c-clip - 27 spline, 1.18" diameter shafts, 7.58" ring gear, 2.62" axle tube - used 90-01
Chrysler 8.25 - 27 spline, 1.17" diameter shafts, 8.25" ring gear, 3" axle tube - used 91-96
Chrysler 8.25 - 29 spline, 1.21" diameter shafts, 8.25" ring gear, 3" axle tube - used 97-01
Dana 44 non c-clip - 30 spline, 1.31" diameter shafts, 8.5" ring gear, 2.75" axle tube - used 87-89 on some (not all) XJs equipped with towing package.
