That play is not excessive, passenger doors don't get used as much as driver's doors. Keep the pins well lubricated to slow down the wear though. Either of these videos should, unfortunately, discourage you from trying hinge pin replacement. The pins don't pop out like GM hinge pins, and our hinges are welded to the vehicle, so you can't work them on a bench.

Basically, you use a block of wood (or similar) to block the door open. It only needs a few inches. Then, with the window fully open (and vent), insert a 2x4 from the outside with the lower end resting against the door panel. Use a towel, rags, blanket, etc., to protect the trim and spread the load out. Place the upper end against the outside of the window frame (the x4 side) of the door in the spot that you need to move (again, use rags, etc. to protect paint). You'll need the 2x4 to extend upwards past the frame by at least a foot, better 2ft to get better leverage. Now gently PUSH! Don't over do it. Check the gap often. The longer the lever is, the less you have to push. Some folks don't bother with the 2x4 and just grab the frame with their hands and brute force it over. One guy used a ratchet strap around the entire roof (windows open both doors). Whatever works for you, if you need to resort to it.

Think of it as trying to "break in" if you lost your keys. You would try to pry the window frame away from the body to create a gap. This is just the opposite. You're pushing the frame back to close the gap.

I mentioned this since there appeared to be damage to the window frame as pointed out by another poster. That spot is typically the place this method is used. I see now that was just the lighting. So again, be careful, use something for padding, Make sure the window and vent are fully open.
