gas gauge sensor seems like it is just installed backwards? idk.. as for speedo, if the wiring looks good, then it might be the relay? make sure to check wiring well before tearing into dash.

The PO of my 89 did the same with the sending unit on mine. For me, E means excellent and F means.... Well you get the point. I also have a yellow light that tells me that my jeep is full and happy.

As far as the speedometer, it could simply be unplugged behind the cluster.

Default change sender

Chances are the gauge or the sender were changed, but not together. After '90 the gauge and sender were run on an opposite signal, so to speak. Unplug the connector at the fuel tank and unplug the dash. Set your multi-meter on the little speaker symbol, touch one lead to ground and the other to the signal wire. If you don't hear a 'beep', then you don't have a short. I say this because your gauge and low fuel light are both working in unison.
Oh, don't forget to check your meter before you check the wire......
