No doors on the freeway I get 8mpg, drive it daily and don't complain because I didn't buy a Jeep to plug my car in an outlet.

96 4.0l H.O. w/ 5speed manual stock gears and 31's and no lift, the last tank i got 17.5 mpg. My commute is 38 miles, a mix of city and hwy driving.

keep in mind I try not to get in a hurry, cruise control at 60-65 on the hwy, try to keep the rpms under 2k in town.

if i drive around like speed racer i would get terrible gas millage, you wanna get better gas millage just slow the hell down

i run 245/70/16's and it depends on my driving conditions but on highway in summer perfect conditions i get about 320 miles to the tank. I have a K&N airfilter, a 10horsepower chip, the downside of this is i have off-road skid plates everywhere 3" lift skyjacker lift kit( increased weight), off-road bumper with tire carrier, brush guard and step sides. I think i am pretty fortunate.

nice man what are you doing in the air force? im in myself.

12 mpg is pretty bad on 31s.
here's a quick breakdown of mine
1. 1999 XJ auto, 4.5" lift, 31x10.5, aluminum wheels, 63mm tb, ev6 injectors, k&n filter, apn header, high flow cat, flowmaster 44, fresh tuneup, properly balanced and aired tires, 120lb speakerbox, about 70lb in tools and accessories... best mpg was 23.5 on all highway driving at steady 55mpg, no passengers, outside temperature right at 70 degrees, windows up, no AC running, fairly flat the whole trip, elevation about 600ft. above sea level, no rest stops for about 340 miles... average mpg is about 18-20 for 70highway/30city in summer, about 17-18 in winter, around 14mpg if driving city only.
2. 1997 5-speed, no lift, 30x9.5, aluminum wheels, ev6 injectors, bad cat. converter, sagged rear. best mpg 24 on a 100 mile highway trip, avg speed 60 mph, outside temp about 50deg., up and down terrain.... usual highway mpg is about 21-22. regular city mpg is 14, that's starting in 20 deg. weather, no warmup, 2 mile drive in city at 30-35mph average.
I have a 6.5" lift, and 34s, with 4.10 gearing, throttle body spacer, borla exhaust, spectre air filter, and amsoil anywhere where fluid goes.. and on my drive from montana to louisiana, i was getting 22/23 the whole way (all interstate).. that being said, mine only had 20k on it and no problems whatsoever.. now that my exhaust is falling off and has a hole in it, i only get 15/16.. city driving...

Some will mock me and say I'm lying but once on a road trip from flagstaff AZ to St George Utah I got 300 miles to a half tank. Was really weird but I'm sure of it. Looks funny on my mileage app. Got 400 miles on that tank. Was on my 225 75 15. Speed limit was 55 so I set it to that on the cruise for 6 hours. If I ever go to flag again ill stop at that gas station for sure. Summer blend as well. Lots of stuff add up to good mileage.

I get 16-17mpg and I have the correct spedo gear. I have 33x12.5x15's, 5.5" lift, and 4.56 gears. I have other random stuff though: flowmaster catback exhaust, neon injectors, tb spacer, cold air intake.

plug in your tire size and gear of choice and see rpm at your highway speed.

http://www.ringpinion.com/Calc_RPM.aspx

i get about 15.5mpg, with about 250miles to the tank. my speedo is not corrected to the 32 inch tires. before i upgraded injectors i would get about 240 ish a tank... all on a fully rebuilt engine.
