I've never had that happen in my jeep, but my work van about 2 months after getting it started to do the same thing. In my state (Oregon) there is virtually no self serve stations so I'd tell the attendant what would happen and several would say "some one probably tried to siphon the gas" which would explain what my van (2013 Nissan NV2500) is the only one of the 4 we have that has this problem and why it started so suddenly.

Only suggestion I've gotten to fix it is to take it to a shop to suck out all the gas in the lines, and I'd rather deal with the pump kicking off. What I do is leave it on the first notch, I've seen attendants put a dog treat between the handle and the nozzle and I've seen them flip the nozzle so it sits upside down too.

Then I would suggest that the fill tube and or connecting hose or the vent tube and or connecting hose has a partial obstruction. Whether it is a kinked hose, or some foreign matter that mischievously entered your fuel system, I would have to believe an obstruction is causing enough pressure to build to turn off the gas pump. Don;t really have any other ideas..hope this helps.

Good work.
No reason to do a schlock job as was suggested and end up with something really dangerous.

I assume you are referring to what I said. If you think that's to dangerous then maybe you shouldn't use an ATV, side by side, lawnmower, chainsaw, weed eater, pressure washer, or drive a pre 1972 vehicle because those are all to dangerous for you to operate.
