Default Gas tank straps tight enough?

I’ve got the gas tank back installed with new j bolts and painted straps and I’m trying to get it back on the road today, but I’m not sure how tight the j bolts should be. The tank feels secure and can’t wiggle around but the nuts are still turning easily, I don’t want to over tighten them and dent the tank but I also don’t want the tank falling off. Also should the passenger side j bolt be at an angle like mine is? Thanks in advance.

The 1995 FSM says "Fuel tank mounting strap nuts = 11 N*M, or 100 in-lbs". So moderately snug. I'd suggest some loctite on there, btw.

Thank you. I looked on shopkeypro and they didn't have a spec for it. Threadlocker and copper anti-seize. Any thoughts on the angle of the j-bolt?

Not sure I'd mix the threadlocker with the antiseize. :} I wouldn't worry about the strap not being bent enough. If you're worried though, you could probably bend it with a pair of vice grips.
