I've got an 87 4.0L that is having some gauge problems. First the temperature gauge. The furthest is seems to move up to is 120* even when I'm taking it through trails. My spotter said he could feel the heat from the engine with the hood closed. In the mornings heat is virtually non existent. I have a 20 minute drive that ranges from speeds of 35-60 miles an hour, and even then by the time I get there it hasn't warmed up. The second problem I just discovered on my way home from work. My oil pressure seems to fluctuate from 40 to way past the 80 mark. I believe it may have dropped to 35 once while I was watching it. Also the gauge doesn't seem to act like the pump is going out. I punched it and watched the pressure both rise and fall at different times and at a hard corner it will rise. At one point in time it stayed past 80 until I stopped.

I doubt an exorcism will fix these problems...
EDIT: Also No ticking noise, have not checked the oil yet, there is a strange noise like a bad bearing grinding coming from the front but it may just be dirt.
