Gear Pattern OK??
Photo 1 drive side, Photo 2 coast side
pinion backlash .0055~.006
looks to me like I need to reduce backlash, but I am at the bottom end of spec. What do you guys think??

backlash .005”
Is there even anything else I can do to get it deeper into the ring gear?

Check out his videos, great info in there. Probably need to add some shims on the left side of the carrier to get it a little closer to the pinion. It's been a minute since I've done it so watch the videos to be sure.

Here is the best I was able to get it. Definitely better than it was by a long shot. What do you think?

Definitely looking better than before, good work!
I made almost a dozen adjustments when I did mine to narrow it down, you want to bracket the sweet spot and then fine tune it. Each axle is a little different.
Just watch the videos thoroughly, comb through all your manuals, and triple check every step. I'm not a pro by any means so do all your research and be careful.
Makes sure when it's where you want it to be triple check the pinion races are all seated. If they're not it can move and lock up on the road.
I think when I did mine I was going for .008-.009 backlash, but just make sure you're in spec.
