Default Generic Oil Filter Question..big hole/small hole

Don't want to restart the oil filter war...these filters not even for jeep..BUT...it seems that the filter with the big holes would flow better than the filter with the small holes. Surprisingly the mobil 1 filter has the small holes and the carquest has the big holes. Am i misinterpreting what I assume to be the better flow?, or does it not matter. I thought the mobil 1 was a quality filter? Of course the cross reference chart says completely interchangeable..thanks for any input

The oil pump can only flow as much as it can push through the engine. I doubt either of those are the system bottleneck.

Very True, if the small holes offer more than enough flow, the big holes wont be any better.

also consider the filter media, how easy does oil pass thru it, how much filter area is there (cut the filter open, and disassemble the filter paper, spread it out and measure it. some filters of same size have much more or much less filter area than others.)
also consider the bypass valve, what pressure does it open, is there an anti drain back valve. filter size, thread size are not the only criteria for filter selection. That said, Fram filters are junk. I have opened many a filter for inspection, I like K and N brand, and Motorcraft Racing filters. K and N on my jeep and van., motorcraft racing on the porsche (engine converted to full flow system). my Bug has no filter.

The carquest filter clearly has no drainback valve I can see right into the filter media.. I'd pass on that one if it's in any position other than straight up when installed...

I wasn't going to use it ...it is very light. just using the holes as an example. My baseline purolator has the same size holes as the mobil 1.
