Get old gasket off tranny pan
I am doing the steps from this: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=987463
To get in there and replace transmission solenoids. I've removed the bolts from the pan, but it is stuck on there with some kind of rubberized gasket. I'm trying to wedge a screwdriver in there and pry it open but it doesn't seem to be giving at all.
Any ideas??? Tips?

I wouldn't use a screwdriver. Good chance of bending the pan. In that situation I use a stiff putty knife working my way around the pan. Might take some time and maybe have to work your way around it a number of times but it won't bend the pan.

Are you aware that the dipstick tube is attached from above?

Tried a razor blade and a butter knife, but this thing won't budge at all. Did these people use glue?

Did you remove the dipstick? If so use a putty knife and gently go around the edges if you do not you "WILL" bend the pan. A butter knife doesn't have a sharp edge on it to cut with like a scraper or putty knife.

When I did this in July I had to use a big screwdriver and pry like mad. They siliconed it from the factory and it probably has never been removed. Just keep trying you'll get it eventually. Just a high schooler rolling through.

A razor blade is not stiff enough to penetrate very well, and a butter knife is too big. You need something in between. A putty knife is just about perfect.
Take a file and put a sharper edge on it, and it should do the job for you.
