They're seeing what they can do. I just need it back on the road at this point.
Have you been to the Jasper website? They have a list of their approved installers. As I recall there was a shop around here called Joe's (something or another). I talked to 'Joe' and he said they charge $1,000 for an engine change.

Thanks.

Yeah, will definitely have a warranty.

I'm having a horrible week. First, my dog gets sick and i find out my year old mutt has stomach ulcers... Then the news about the Jeep... And now my grandmas is in the hospital with signs of a stroke.

I need to write a country song.

And no, i haven't been to their site. The shop the Jeep is at said they're buying the motor for 2800 by itself if they install a Jasper. That's already my budget alone.

Ugh.. Ok... Motor rebuild is a go.

Decided to have them rebuild MY motor. Out the door, it will be $2975. That includes what they are charging me for diagnostics. Will have a 1 year warranty. I could have paid them the diag fee, and towed it outta there and had it rebuilt for a little over $2600... But that was a hassle. I'll just pay a little extra for convenience. Will have it back in about a week and a half.

Sure wish I'd been one of the lucky ones and it had been something more simple.

Oh well. Maybe I'll be more motivated to get to fixing the rust in the "rain gutters" now.
Btw... How would i go about that if it has seeped thru and shows rust on the top inside of the front door frames? (if that makes any sense)

It's flaky rust both on the inside of the door, and in the gutter. I can't imagine cutting it out, because then the door might not shut right with a piece of new metal in there.
