Default Getting hot

I deliver mail on my RHD 1991 Jeep Cherokee. My Jeep tends to run hot quickly after continuously stopping after putting a new fan stroud, took the thermostat out and electrical fan on. What else could be wrong or need to be replaced? It has water and coolant....

Pull the cap when cold, start it, have a helper give it some gas and look for coolant circulating....in other words is the water pump going out.

And put the thermostat back in. In fact, replace it with a new Mopar unit.

My 2000XJ used to have marginal cooling. Hot weather highway was always a problem. I replaced my radiator with a MOPAR HD unit. (3-row I think.) I installed a HESCO high flow water pump and also their high flow thermostat housing. I don't know if the housing really helped. But the new setup does not overheat. The temp gage seldom moves above the "normal" indication, even in hot summers in South Texas.

In your case im leaning towards fan clutch. Typically low/no speed cooling issues are caused by airflow. Plugged radiator fins, bad efan, bad fan clutch stuff like that.

High speed cooling is typically waterflow. Bad water pump, clogged radiator cooling passages stuff like that.

These arent hard fast rules. Just an idea of where to start.
