giving it gas....it just wont go ....

giving it gas....it just wont go ....
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! my 92 sport has been running kinda rough but i could get around untill today . when i give it gas it just sputters and kicks and pops and may reach 2MPH if im lucky....somebody said the catalytic converter so i swaped that . still no go somebody said fuel filter so i swaped that . still no go .........im thinking fuel pump ??? any help would be great

is your check engine light on?? if so go to autozone and have them pull the codes for you.
deff check plugs make sure gapped correctly and clean and sparking
then check fuel and make sure your getting pressure at fuel rail.
if both those check out you could try a compression test if you have access to a tester.
then you could start checking sensors.
if its sputtering it could be your tps going out..
could be a number of things.
but like mentioned,
start with the basics. spark fuel and compression.
deff check plugs make sure gapped correctly and clean and sparking
then check fuel and make sure your getting pressure at fuel rail.
if both those check out you could try a compression test if you have access to a tester.
then you could start checking sensors.
if its sputtering it could be your tps going out..

I don't know if yours has this, but my '89 has a ballast resistor for the fuel pump. The ballast is bypassed when starting(so it fires right up) and then runs through the ballast afterwards. I had a poor connection at the ballast so it would start, then die almost immediately.

I fixed it !!! Wooo hoooo !!!!
ok so i started this thred a few days ago couse my 92 2dr would stop going , it would just start sputering and poping , since then i have replace the catalytic converter , a fuel filter and finally the fuel pump ( there was no sediment filter atached to the one i took out ) and the pump fixed the problem so i realy appreciate all the help THANKS SOOOOO MUCH
