I am running 30x9.50's on stock suspension no trimming and I dont rub lock to lock, I think a 2" BB and 31's would work fine as long as you get rims with correct backspacing and depending on what kind of wheeling you want to do.
Just my opinion

what tire size.
I did a Rough country 3" lift I bought from E-Bay for 200, it had new coils add a leaf with new shocks with bellows and new u-bolts. It has turned out to be a good lift kit, put new 30x9.5x15" bfg at and it handles real good on the hiway and local streets with no vibration or death wobble. I did have to buy an adjustable trac bar and sway bar disconnects to get the front diff aligned right and the sway bar disconnects help get the sway bar away from the radiator and the coils. No rubbing and it looks good too, will probably put Rustys 3.5" leafs in the back when I install the Dana 44.
Good luck.

get a sledge hammer and beat it until it looks right. if it doesn't look right, just keep beating it. ha ha.
but seriously, you probably won't know until you do it. some people get away with 2" and 31's and some like me, rub with 4.5" and 31's. more than likely you won't have to trim enough to make it visible. i don't think you can tell that the front sections of my fender flares in the front are missing about an inch.

sorry havent been on for a day or two, i have very offset wheels that stick out about 2 inches out from the fender flares, and i dont need any flex here in georgia so im not worried about flexin cause you cant really do that here, im not worried about rubbin cause im mostly just keepin it like it is fender wise until i have the money to get some BW after i get the lift of course

I've got an '89 Laredo with a 3" Rusty's add-a-leaf and 31x10.50 Dunlop M/T's on stock wheels with no rubbing. I did however take the plastic fender liners out an toss them because they were dry rotted. I also took the flares off to paint them and the rig, but I think it looks pretty good with no plastic flares, so I'm going to leave them off. Especially since I tore one up removing it.
