cool you must not have a massive amount of miles on it yet, the biggest one is the valve cover. i had to do all but the oil filter housing and head gasket

They're $8!! Take the RMS back for a refund. Did you buy an oil pan gasket to go with the RMS? I'll bet your RMS isn't even leaking. It's probably the OFA seals and the valve cover gasket. If they leak, they drip off the RMS area since your motor is mounted slightly nose-up and the RMS is the lowest area for a drip to drip from.
Always fix leaks from top to bottom.

I'm saying DON'T do the RMS yet and fix the valve cover and OFA first with the money you already spent on the RMS..

My dad got it with 170k miles 12 years ago and it leaked really bad out of the RMS. So he had a buddy at a tech school pull the motor and fix it and weld the exhaust manifold back together. So it probably IS the oil fliter mount. His 1996 with 185k doesn't leak anything though so I think it depends more onthe vehicle's past.

As long as you keep fluid in it it'll be fine for now. 4x4 has nothing to do with it - the gears in the front axle are always spinning when you're moving - whether you have it in 4x4 or not. No fluid = fried gears = a VERY bad day

Bought it two weeks ago started seeing spots in the driveway . When I filed it I did untill it started to come out of the plug as suggested then replaced the plug . Got a quote of 275 to replace both and put them covers by th u joints

My dad's leaked on both sides AND the pinion when he first got it. It took 6-10 hours for me to do those seals. Fricken PO's. But like that one guy said keep fluid in it.

My comanche leaks from every single seal... Pulling the drivetrain now... Watch for a write up come end of Jan on going through everything and replacing all seals and some other worn parts at one time... Making it mechanically sound...
