Well the jeep I was going to buy sold about an hour before i got there. So I decided to go buy some stuff for my old one. Rustys had a special so I went out and bought it. Heres what I got

Flowmaster 40
Rustys air tube
6"/9" KN filter
2.5 inch tail pipe
all for $270 including shipping

So am I looking at a good increase in performance and fuel economy? The rig
(1995 xj 4.0) currently has a walker muffler with 6-7 holes punched in it that old owner put in and a 2.25 tail pipe. I also am going to clean out the cat because theres a piece of something rattling in it. any opinions has anyone done something like this?

anything you can do to increase airflow will help increase hp and mpg,the rattle in your cat is the brick coming apart. You will not find anyone giving you advise on here other than replace it,i know there are states without emisions but it is still not leagal to run without it. or clean it out.

Summit Racing has high flow cats for around $90. I have been running one and it passed smog beautifully.

yep i'll just pick one up my friend said he will give me a good deal on a cat. my state doesn't require a smog test but I still want to remain legal. Does anyone know the general increase in hp and mpg for any of those products??
