Default Is this a good header?

Ok, its time for a header, which I thought I already had but was incorrect . Anyways I did some research on the forum here and turned up one that caught my eye, it's the APN header I believe, which has another name now or something, here's the link to it:

http://www.ineedparts.com/auto-parts...-manifold.html

It caught my eye mainly for two reasons... The PRICE ($129.00) and Frankz, and other members, talked about it in another header thread here:

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/header-32440/, post #6.

Is this the real deal for only $129.00??? It's looks like a good desgin. I know from reading in the other thread that Frankz and his son ran them on they're xj's, and I beleive he liked how it preformed. Frankz... if your out there please chime in and let me know what you think about this header... What you all think, can't beat $129.00 for a new aftermarket header. Comments, opinions... Thanks guys.

do the APN or the Banks headers solve the cracking problem of the stock headers?

No, in farct none of the headers on the market do. Keep in mind I said HEADERS, not manifolds. The Dorman replacement manifolds have a bellows built into them to help alleviate the problem.

As far the APN Header is concerned, my first one cracked and I got a replacement without any problems at all.

I'd strongly recommend installing a flex joint just after the bend in the downpipe. This applies to any header not just the APN. Yeah you can get a replacement if it cracks, but how many times do you want to replace a header?
I've seen these at Advance Auto for under $25.

And here's what mine sounded like with the APN header....

cool thanks guys, looks like I will be ordering mine this week. I plan on doing this mod along with a bored 63mm throttle body and 2000+ intake. My exhaust is very open, being 2.5in from the bottom of my stock header back, hi flo cat, flowmaster super 44. So I know I can get everything "out" I just need to get the air in faster, thus the intake manifold, TB and headers.
I know this is a little bit off topic but will my 93 throttle body fit on a 2000+ intake manifold? I plan on getting a bored TB from strokedjeep and he requries the same year TB as a core charge... So if I get a bored TB for a 2000+ intake I got to have the samke year TB too??? Or is there any difference at all?

Ahhh yes, forgot about this one.... Does the APN header, the one im getting take any type of modifaction to fit with a 2000+ intake manifold. Like shaving it down anywhere?

The throttle body itself will fit on the 00 intake manifold, but I think in 96 they did the MAP sensor a little differently so they added a vacuum line to the TB. You won't be able to send out your 93 TB and call it an 00 TB, but you don't need an 00 TB. You shouldn't have a problem using your 93 on the 00. If you got an 00 TB then you wouldn't be able to use the MAP sensor, though. If you happened to get an 00 TB I suppose you could cap off the vacuum port, though. Bottom line is, you do not need an 00 TB, your 93 will fit on the manifold and work great.

Isnt having an adjustable MAP sensor a nice thing to have? Strokedjeep has them too... imagine that haha. Anyways So I can run my 93 on the new intake manifold with no problems like fitting? and also run a MAP adjuster....

Yea, the 93 TB will fit on the 00 intake manifold. I have no clue about what this adjustable MAP sensor really does, but I'm sure it's a universal fitment with splicing of wires. What exactly does it do? Adjust the fuel curve or something?

Yea it does something like that, helps your injectors run a better fuel flow rate. At www.strokedjeep.com, the place where I'm getting the TB, he clearly explains what the MAP adjuster does.
Anyways, looks I found a 2000+ intake manifold to swap in... Which means I need ti fond out if the APN header will fit with that installed... Anyone know?
