good news bad news
Okay so the good news is I just switched to Geico and saved a bunch of money okay not really....the good news I cleared the evap code but now I am getting the codes P0700 and P0740 all the shifting seems to be fine and from what I have seen there is a NSS that you can clean up and some of the connectors to the tranny where is the NSS located do I have to rip up the center console for this?
I am trying to get this damn thing inspected and now this is holding me back

Always fix the lowest code first. Lots of times it clears the others up. That P0700 code is a tough one though. I believe its a generic code letting you know something is wrong with the trany. Since the evap code cleared, did you clear the rest and have this come on after? What is you Jeep doing, if anything?

At first it was only the evap code coming up the connector was broke near the condenser. I replaced the hose and it cleared up but the check engine light was still on so I figured the evap code needed to be cleared. When I took her to auto zone this morning the guy said oh you arent going to like this and printed out those codes. All my cars until this one have been manuals so as far as I know or can tell everything is working with the tranny. While on the subject how hard is a 5 speed swap?

Okay so apparently autozone is not allowed to clear codes so I did the pcm reset instead and the cel came right back on is there a fuse associated with that 700 code that I can check?

I forgot to mention the tranny fluid is good and fairly clean I haven't tried to put it in 1-2 or 3 but drive and reverse works fine I am at a loss and may just have to take it to a tranny shop to make sure everything is good

okay after more research here is what I can come up with for the 740 code which goes hand in hand with the 700 code
P0740 (M) Torq Con Clu, No RPM Drop at Lockup Relationship between engine and vehicle speeds indicated failure of torque convertor clutch lock-up system (TCC/PTU solenoid)
So it is my understanding that I need to replace the torque convertor?

I have the same codes that just came up, I have my own OBD2, it came up with P0700, P0740 and P0743. I imagine the first step is to find out where all the connections are and clean and make sure those are all good. then move from simple to more complex things.....
The P0743-Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid/ Trans Relay Circuits-An open or shorted condition detected in the torque convertor part throttle unlock solenoid control circuit (3 or 4-speed auto. trans. only).
So until I learn more, could this be a bad solenoid, or a corroded plug/connecter or broken wire???
Time to do some poking around............

Coredigi, there are a few possibilities here, but I would suspect a solenoid problem first for the P0740. You can test all of the solenoids for resistance spec values if you drop the pan. Probably should do that.
Here is more on that code....check it out.
