Gosh darn Control Arm Drop Brackets
It's been a while since I posted over here, but I bring you a question that I hope you guys can answer for me. I recently picked up a set of control arm drop brackets. I was going to pop them on but then I got to thinking..."Are these things going to work?" I currently have 5" of lift and I'm running RC fixed Lca's and RE fixed Uca's, both sets of arms are for a 5" lift. With the drop brackets can I still use my current arms or should I get something else? The "Live chat" on the Rough County website said yes I could use them, but I'm a bit skeptical, the live chat guy took a real long time to answer the question and I don't seem to trust him.
Anybody have any opinoins on this ?

with my RE drop brackets, my fixed upper and lower control arms were stock length at i believe 15.25 inches (lowers). that is because the drop brackets only drop the stock location, they don't move them forwards or back.
but, i believe you can still run slightly longer arms as long as they are both the right length corresponding each other. they will only be about .25 to .5 inch longer than stock. so it would only push the axle ahead a bit, which isn't totally a bad thing.
only one way to find out. install them then get an alignment. stock wheel base is 101.4 inches.

I would like to know as well because i am planning on getting this and the live chat guy told me to get the adjustables after i told him that mine are longer than specs say which would put me around 300-350 bc i would be buying the lower adjustables... (i have a 4.5 lift)

I would say yes.... I ran Re Drop brackets on my now truggy with stock upper and lowers... and angles were perfect. SO yes it will move axle forward alil bit.. but will flex awesome. Look at my Webshots of when my MJ was black. The Tellico ride comes to mind.

I have the RC drop brackets with and RE upper and lowers from a 4.5" lift kit and run 7.5" springs. It moved my front axle forward about 1/2" but other than that it's fine. RC has lengths they recommend for the uppers and lowers on the install sheet which you can download from their site.
