Default got my new radiator. tranny cooler line ?

how does the bottom line come off? does it take a special tool the top one is threaded in and the bottom has a odd ball fitting. what do i used to remove and reinstall that line on the new radiator?

Default Yeah its a special fitting

I just removed my radiator in my 2000 Cherokee Sport and dealt with the slip fitting. I carefully cut a small 1/2 inch piece of plastic tube and slit it and pressed it into the end of the opening to spread the little tangs that keep the fitting connected. There probably is a "special tool" at the parts store to do this "professionally" though. BTW I am rebuilding the 4.0 hence the reason for removing the radiator.

I compressed it by hand and pulled it off. Was incredibly easy.

Should be two "ears" i think? Squeeze them together and try to move fitting one way or the other. I shot mine with pb to clean debris off so i could see fitting better. Shine some good light down there so you can see how it works.

Yup, Mine was CAKED in sludge, clean it up real good first. Be gentle while cleaning, 'cause the 2 "ears" are just plastic, then just squeeze in on the ears and it should just pop right out.
