Great junkyard finds!
Went shoppin today... I read a thread on how to do the cable conversion yourself for the D30 and they said i needed a long bike brake cable... got to thinking and i went to the junkyard to pull a hood release cable... should be plenty long enough... got it off a 98ish chevy... if you do this try and get one off a vehicle where the hoods already gone so you dont cause issues with someone else... Anyways i got to lookin around in all the cherokees there just to see what i could find i might would want for mine... Came across this headliner speaker setup that looks like it was made by jeep because the light is the same as the front headliner light... not sure if everyone has one or if alot of them came with it but i thought it was pretty cool anyways... So i took it out... Also came across a cup holder which i did not have and grabbed it too... had been meaning to get one off ebay but hey... this one was right here... even got me a brand new metal thing you stick steaks in and set on the grill so its easy to flip them over!! All for the hefty price of... only $20... Made my day anyways... so you never know what you may find just by walking around a junkyard and open some doors... Anyone find anything pretty cool in a junkyard?

P.S. the fabric was the same color as my stock color but it was coming off and shrunk so i just pulled it off and scraped away the fuzzy stuff and gonna toss alittle paint on it... its fiberglass so itll last forever...

I've got the headliner speaker bar in my jeep. I actually need to replace the speakers they are a little ****ty. My buddy pulled a D44 out of an old XJ for his YJ, I think he paid $100 for it, which I thought was pretty damn cheap. I've only been once and it was so damn busy I didn't bother snooping around, but I may be heading out on saturday. Can't wait.

I have been wanting to go to a Pull-a-part for awhile but just havent. There is a Jeep yard here but I bet the prices would be higher since they know what they have.

Great idea! Mine looks exactly like yours and I didn't want to mess with replacing the fabric either

yeah the speakers outer ring are shot on these but they still sound fine to me and there held in by plastic rivets so i dont feel like messin with them until there shot out cause installing new ones will be kinda fun to figure out... plus these look lighter then normal speakers and worries me with strength and sag... but when i do its getting marine speakers since my jeeps gutted... im mounting mine right where the stock roof light is cause mines a 2 door... and all the wires are there already... plus im thinking about choppin my back roof and making a play "truck" since all my glass and hatch is already gone
Ive always spent hours looking at vehicles in junkyards and seeing what junk they have in them... when i was 16 i found a 6 shooter once in a trunk but it was rusted to hell and the next car over had a wooden bat with nails and sharpened chunks of metal sticking out of it... got a back window rifle mount out of a truck and found a 10 point rack in the front seat of a different truck once too... in fact half of it is wrapped around my fox squirell i got mounted

Haha maybe...I was so depressed because they scrapped half of their cherokee collection....Then hiding in the corner was a black 96ish with RE stickers all over it... score!
It was hard to tell it was lifted because it didnt have any wheels or tires on it...guess people overlooked that one!
Too bad it only had AAL out back or I would have had a whole RE kit!

I've gotten a few front skid plates and gas tank skids for $10 each, a hitch for 25, Front axle shafts for 25 a piece, a driveshaft for 40, R.E. front extented stainless steel brakes for $30. I think those were my best deals. A vacuum canister for free.
