a lot of people talk bad about them, but is it from expereince, the few people i know that actually ran them, have nothing bad to say about them.

i used them on a daily driver for a long time, 33". no tread ever flew off, handled as well as any 33" aggressive tire would, and i put over 30k on them and they were about 50% worn.
You know the forums, one bad experience equals 1000 bad experiences. No one around here runs them due to the rumors that they SUCK. I've researched them last year and almost considered them but somehow the guy at 4wd hardware talked me out of it cuz he had them and said the two words that everyone says "they suck". He convinced me to go with trxus again and whatdoyaknow, they suck too!

well since my post there's at least another first hand experience that liked them, i can personally compare them to bfg all terrain, bfg mud terrain, pep boys crap brand, and tsl. the thornbirds were my favorite, way better than bfg.

the only tire i will consider on my build other than them will be boggers

if they are cheap and you want to give them a shot just do it. i havent heard anything good about them, but if they are super cheap try syping them and see how they do. if they suck well, you didnt spend much money and try getting some other sucker do buy them from you.

This has nothing to do with thornbirds, but I watched this video after watching to one 93XJ posted. It's about 5 min long, but well worth the watch to me. This guy does some pretty crazy stuff with his XJ.

the wrangler or cj,(don't remember now) in the begining was an idiot. and the driver of the xj showed some skill at least. but did you see how bald his tires were from burning them up on the rocks all the time?

tire grooving is easy with a grooving iron, i bought one from a race shop, i cut my 42 inch tsl's with no problem, it just takes time go slow dont rush yourself and after a while you will find what works the best....what i recomend is getting a few different sized cutting heads and blades, i got two, a 1/4 inch width and 1/2 inch width, plan ahead before you cut make sure you keep the same pattern around the whole tire so it will be ballanced, i marked everything i wanted to cut with a tire crayon, or marker

good luck
