Growling noise from front end

Growling noise from front end
I just had my axle shaft u-joints replaced and now when I take off from a dead stop there is a brief growling noise coming from the front axle but it goes away quickly. I dunno if its something the shop did or the fact that is raining/snowing here and something got wet (the problem started today and the axle u-joints were replaced last night)
Any help would be appreciated

You have made so many changes to your front steering and suspension components it is going to be difficult to diagnose on the interweb. Since you just replaced the u-joints and didn't have a growl before the change it would be reasonable to assume that the two are in fact related. Go over the change and make sure everything is as it should be. Everything tightened to specs and nothing rubbing where it shouldn't. Just generally re-check everything and let us know what you find. The problem definately wasn't there yesterday before I had the u-joints replaced. The tech that replaced my radiator (today of all days my radiator decided to spring a leak) said it kinda sounds like my axle is trying to lock up. Even though the steering/suspension has been changed the axle/u-joints/hubs etc are all stock.

Maybe you ran over something...........like a bear...........and it's mad at you. Seriously you have to tear it all back down and go through the u-joint installation again. Don't farm the job out to "your mechanic" because he won't be listening to your bear growling at you. You will.

Well luckily I didn't do the install because I don't have a lift that can lift that rig up or a torch that was required to remove the old u-joint. I am just wondering what could've happened since the tech is saying that a u-joint replacement can't cause the problem I'm having

Unit bearings could have been switched and they don't take too kindly rotating opposite of their accostomed direction. Just a thought. Been going through this job in my mind and thats the only thought I came up with. Other than the bear. HaHaHa.
