Hi, this is my first post on the forum so apologies if this isn't the right place.
I've just changed over the headlights on my '99 XJ to an H4 set of bulbs with a control relay and replacement harness. All went really well after a bit of planning and the odd unexpected thing like having to trim the rubber seals on the new projector open beam units do they would fit the housing. The only hassle I've got is that once I've switched on then the units don't switch off when I switch them off. They shut off when I turn off the ignition ok.
Anyone any ideas?
I placed the relay and connected the connector to the dusting right hand headlight wiring socket.
The units are branded Exsun and come from a reputable dealer here in the UK.
The XJ is the RHD Export variant as I live in Scotland.

Does he have the factory fog lights Installed? I read somewhere that the fog lights don't play nicely with the upgraded harness, id have to do some digging to find the info.

Autopal E-codes off ebay: Less than $50 per pair delivered to your door.
LMC Truck harness by Putco: $25 plus shipping.
Best $80 you'll probably ever spend on your Jeep.
Oh yeah, less than an hour to install after they arrive.

Okay just got the harness in the mail and I'll be installing it soon. Everything makes sense to me except one thing, what is this male part for right here (it's on the passenger side of the harness)? I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out once i actually get in there and install it but I wanna hear from you guys first

It'll be closer to the battery, and less work.

I know eautoworks has gone up in price but considering all the positive feedback from everyone here, I would have paid double what I did for the harness

I was under the impression that to install this, I would basically be going in, tearing out the old factory harness completely and then replacing it with the Putco harness. So basically what I'll be doing is plugging in the Putco harness to the factory one and leaving it in there entirely?
The installation instructions that came with the harness are just pretty unclear to me

Yeah, I know. I got mine yesterday.
You plug the male end of the Putco harness right into where you would plug the old sealed beam. In place of the bulb itself. Then run the new bulbs off the harness.
