Wonder if over the years of supplying these, they've just gotten cheaper, trying to save themselves money by giving the customer parts that aren't as of high quality? I'm not sure. Hope it isnt going to cause me problems though!

Yes. 4 pins. I just checked. 5 wires going to 4 pins. My mistake.

Ok, makes more sense. Wonder if mine will last or not.

I should maybe pick up another pair just in case.

The only relay failures I've ever heard of were "out of the box" failures. Right after installation. I question some of them as I would venture to guess the real problem was poor grounding.

That's refreshing! I didn't mean to knock on a company's product that has been widely used and loved.

I'm probably gunna pick up another pair just in case too. Leave it in the jeep somewhere so that I don't get stranded somewhere one night

As close to the battery as the kit goes, I was thinking about using the battery ground.

I haven't chosen a spot on the other side.

I use the horizontal 10mm headed bolts on the radiator support for the ground on each side.

I meant to! Lol

I am sure you could directly power them by bypassing the relays if you really needed to. Not sure if that would hurt anything in the long run, though.

This is where I grounded mine too. IIRC my relays have 4 contacts too.

Yeah, it's a real convenient place to locate the grounds and the harness length is perfect for that location.

worst case, you cut the relay out of the system (connect the wires directly together) if you need to
