I have never heard of that, or experienced that. Where are you getting that information from?

fixed the leaky o rings on my kitchen sink, about 5 years ago. the only thing i've ever seen it tear up is a styrofoam cup.

Luckily I read all these before I had time to mess with it. I am gonna go to the auto part store and give it a look for a graphite compound. messing with anything inside of a door is enough to make me want to kick a small child. so hopefully this will work. Keep yall updated.

To my knowledge, I don't have any styrofoam cups in my doors. I also don't think I've seen them used in a lock assembly.

Pretty much all metal pieces as far as I've ever seen. At least in our Jeeps. Old wives tales strike again...........

i'm just going off past experiences. i use blaster quite a bit. it seems that most of the time if it gets on seals those are the ones that get brittle and wear out first. but i'm not saying don't use it, just my opinion that for that application there are better products. rusty and stuck bolts and stuff like that, i only use blaster because it works the best in my experience. and of course all this is just my opinion, if you don't like it, fine, you don't need to follow it.
