Default hard to start and dies after long idle times

Ok so this just started.

It takes me about 5 minutes or more to strat my jeep.

I can drive it anywhere once started.

Now after starting it if I let it idle for more then 15 minutes it will begin to lose power and die.

If I give it gas as it starts to die it will go for awhile longer.

Its a stock 90 4.0l renix. Aw4 transmission.

Has custom intake.

I have replaced tps about 4 months ago if not longer.

What do I do what do I check?

Cat? The converter?

How is that an issue.

Unless it went bad in less then a month I had that torn out when wheeling. The exhuast shop said it was a little dirty ut can still see through the honeycomb.

Catalytic converters tend to be good or bad! They also tend to go bad without any warning. A free test would be to unbolt it, and run your xj. If the problem goes away or at least gets much better- chances are it's the cat. Good luck with gettin it unbolted, it can be done with time and determination!

HEAT the fasteners before you try they are more than likely rusted solid i cheat and use a cutting torch and get it glowing real good and i take it off while its still red it comes off like its brand new (just did my cat same issue)

Check your EGR as well, unplug the EGR vacuum hose and close it.
Check your fuel pressure.

The egr is a quite usless device and is supposed to open only at high rpms, if it opens at idle it will cause rough idle, engine dying and the engine won't start immediately.
It's simple to check anyways, unless you live in California just close the main vacuum hose with a bearing ball and that's it.
It could be bad fuel pressure as well.
Did you replace your fuel filter recently? How's the FP sounding?
Vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator?
Ah, very important:
Check the vacuum line to the map sensor as well.

There you are, vacuum to the map sensor. Find the leak. Check the rubber thingy in the throttle body where the line exits.
