Default Having trouble fitting the clutch pedal rod into the clutch master cylinder sleeve

Hey guys, I'm coming back from a hiatus from owning a mustang, now I'm back into a Cherokee.

I'm almost done installing a new clutch master and slave cylinder assembly and am having the hardest time trying to get the rod from the clutch pedal to slip into the master cylinder sleeve. I've attached a picture, any ideas? I've tried moving the pedal up and down while pushing but it's a tight space up there, hard to apply any pressure.

Ended up sanding the sleeve a bit and was able to slide it on.

I haven't been there in a very long time. Looks like the takeaway is one needs to get that sucker on there before bolting the master to the firewall. Even that slight angle makes it bind. Glad you got it!
