Default Head Gasket question

I just finished changing my head gasket. While I was actually in there doing it, I poured 2 cycle oil in the cylinders to make getting out any crud that dropped in there easier.
I just started it up, and now I'm unsure if the smoke coming out the back means I still have a leak or if it's just the 2 cycle burning off... does anyone know how long it usually takes for the 2 cycle to clear out? (I've only run it for a few seconds so far)

I'll take "How I jacked my cataclysmic convertor" for $100 Alex.

Man, I had no idea jeeps could convert cataclysms -- the next earthquake's really gonna be rough .
Okay, sorry, couldn't resist the joke.

I'm not worried about the catalytic converter -- it's going to have to be replaced anyways. Let's just say that I live in a state without any emissions testing or inspections... and that unfortunately the previous owner was most likely very aware of that lack in oversight. (I do understand that that's a very serious issue and do intend to replace it before I get it back on the road.)

Also, the 2-cycle oil idea is one that I got from reading head gasket writeups on this site. Is it really that bad? (just wondering if I should maybe leave a warning comment on the threads that suggested it for the sake of people who *don't* already need to replace their catalytic converter)

playing the role of Captain Hindsight here, but NEXT TIME, dont do that.. just take a shop rag and clean the cylinders of coolant/crud, use compressed air if you want. dont put oil or 2 stroke oil or transfluid or any other silly snake oils that people might recommend.

I dunno what color smoke you get when you burn 2stroke oil, but yeah anything that you put in the cylinders now has to burn off. run the engine till all the **** burns off, then pull the plugs and spray em down with brake clean to keep em from fouling. or if theyre old change em out.

Is the smoke blue/white? If so that's the 2 cycle burning off.
