I know this has been covered SO many times. However I am still a bit new to the jeep 4.0 life, a lot of good info out there but also contradictory and I cant seem to get a clear answer.
Anyways I just bought another xj (1997 Cherokee 4.0) supposedly blown head gasket. #1 cylinder low compression and coolant mixing in with oil. I see the top of cylinder 1 on the head has been pin and welded between the two valves. I can also tell someone has clearly done the head gasket recently and has no sign of headgasket failure. So far I'm assuming that maybe the pin and weld has failed (Getting head pressure checked tomorrow)

THE QUESTION:
It has a 1999 intake upgrade on the original head cast 0630. But I also have a 1991 Cherokee I'm using as a 4x4 swap for my mj, that I can steal the head off. The 1991 Cherokee has a head cast of 7120 it is not clear of what modifications if any is needed for it to bolt up to the 1997 block AND 1999 intake. I know there's a coolant port that needs to be blocked off but what else needs to be done if any to the exhaust and intake? Thank you hopefully I explained that ok lol

The 99 intake and exhaust will bolt right up to the 7120 head. The headgasket is the same between both heads. You will need the PS bracket and pump from the 99
