it means the thermostat is staying closed. You didn't put it in backwards did you?
The pellet and spring need to go towards the engine. Also make sure the arrow and air bleed hole are at the top.

Yeah but I don't know how I'd unclog it, thermostat is good, just tested it
Edit I can blow through the hose that runs to the firewall, so I don't think it's clogged

Well I got the gasket to seal, I had felpro sheet gasket laying around so I traced it out and made one, stuck the two together with rtv and it holds. Jeep runs like a champ. I wanted to thank everybody on here that has helped me out!

Update.
Serpentine belt squeaks badly and jeep starts to overheat. Heat is blowing ice cold. The upper and lower rad hoses are hot like usual, the two hoses that run to the heater core are swollen, but one of the hoses are warm and the other cold. I'm thinking the heater core is clogged. then fluid starts to seep out of the rad cap.Any suggestions? Thanks!

heater core being plugged will not cause truck to over heat did you run it until the thermostat open then fill with water and sound like rad cap is no good not holding pressure 210 degrees is normal , belt loose causing sqyeeking, is radiator hot all around top to bottom

ok whenyou were driving you were pushing air thru the radiator when idleing you not with motor off soin the fan if it spins freely when hot the clutch on it is no good it will spin freely when cold should not spin as free when hot
