Default Headlight Hackjob

Hi, guys:

First time poster here! I've been skimming the forum to get answers on some questions I've had, but there's one that's killing me and making my Jeep undriveable: my headlights sometimes work. Sometimes in the early morning when I start the car to go to work, the headlights won't come on. Sometimes they do come on. Sometimes they shut off after a few minutes. Sometimes they shut off after 30 minutes. I can't figure it out. The previous owner of this Jeep must've done some stuff to the car before me (see photos) because I can't figure out what's going on. The first photo is the harness by the airbox. It's a mess. The second photo is the fuse box below/to the left of the steering wheel.

TBH I'm not the best car guy around, nor am I trying to build a crawler. I just want this car to work so I can get to work in the morning and take the dog out.

Please help!

Fix the harness by the airbox.

I attached a picture of the harness -- what specifically do I do to fix it? It's a huge mess and I'm not sure the best place to start.

Thank you.
