Headlight Harness problems
So I purchased a headlight harness upgrade from Amazon, from the reviews it seemed like it was the correct one for my 96 Cherokee.
Install went smooth, but when I tried to turn on the lights-nothing. I had all the park/turn lights, but no headlights.
Pulled everything apart, seems to be correct, then I read the instructions (last resort-Ha!) and it said my harness was for a negative switch system.
Did I get the wrong harness? Can I make this one work?
thanks
This is the harness I ordered:

I don't even know what negative switch system means. LOL.
I don't see any reason why it should not work but...
If it were me I would start by checking the 2 ground wires on the harness.
EDIT: Do you have daytime driving lights or factory fogs?

A negative switch system is one where the switch controls the circuit by connecting or disconnecting the negative side (ground) of the wiring harness.
Some vehicles are set up that way....as indicated in the item description on Amazon.
"...on negative switched vehicles like Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, or Suzuki, is not a simple job. But with our plug-n-play conversion harness it can be!"
Although the injectors may be negative switched on the XJ, the headlights are not.
This is my understanding anyway....YMMV

Ok, that's what I thought. I read the reviews, and a few guys commented about their XJ's, but I have to remember it's Amazon-lol
No fogs or daytime running lights. I'll take a look at the harness. I should be able to swap some connectors and make it work.
Thanks again
