Got my Amazon Putco Harness and new H4 100/80w bulbs today. Still waiting on autopals. I am gunna connect the new harness to the stock sealed beams however for the time being, just to see the difference.

Gonna do a little writeup and some comparison pictures.

That's the way to do it to squelch the doubting Thomases. LOL
Show stock, with harness, and then with the Autopals and H4 bulbs. I look forward to seeing you shed some light on this subject. Pun intended.

i have a 2000 xj and i checked my voltage at the headlights and it was at 11:98 volts when the car was running so do i need the harness???? did jeep maybee upgrade this in this year ? I just want to run reg sealed beams but silverstars

Need it? Think about this. Your battery voltage when running is about 13.8. A headlight switch which can melt down and leave you in the dark costs at least $30. The harness will make your headlights about 30% brighter than they are now and you never have to worry about the headlight switch melting down. Worth it to you?

It was worth every penny to me the Putco harness makes an amazing difference! Stop debating it and buy it!

All I here is positives about this harness. I have a question. Did anyone have an annoying long wait time? I ordered mine February 21st... and they said it should ship March 8th... it is not March 14th and still nothing. I search with my Order number, last name and zip, and nothing...

Did anyone have this long of a wait?

I got lucky on mine a local shop that does older GM vehicles and got it for 45 bucks but it was right there right now no wait and found a set of ipf with the magic blubs at the junk yard is it was a win win.

I'm pretty sure mine shipped the next day after ordering. Were you charged for it? You should give them a call

Well, i called. They said it shipped and should be here around the 16th. I was surprised by the delay, BUT they did say they were out of stock and coming from the manufacturer and shipping the eighth. Didn't realize it'd take 8 days after that, but all is good.

I got my harness today after i ordered it on 2-20, so ya it takes a bit. I called a few times just to make sure it was on the way. So gonna put it on tonight, cant wait. Stock lights suck! Also got the E code auto pals.

I know these posts are kind of old - but to you Ontarians wondering about DRLs: I doubt you'll get any hassle as long as you remember to turn your lights on when it's appropriate. I'd say around here 30-40% of the vehicles on the road don't have automatic DRLs, including late-model cars which kind of confuses me. I couldn't find anything specifically related to Ontario's safety inspections but this came down from a Federal level, which makes me think that DRLs are only really checked when bringing a vehicle into the country, say a new model being sold or an import from elsewhere.

I did my wiring upgrade yesterday, haven't driven at night yet, so no first-hand results, but even in daylight they look brighter.
I don't like the clutter of extra relays and wires, etc under the hood, so I made it all up myself. I ripped a fuse/relay panel from the JY, to get the connectors I needed to add 2 relays into my existing fuse panel.
I ran 14-gauge wires to the headlights, and brought some 16-gauge back from the passenger side to the relay coils. I soldered the power wires for the new relays into the wires from the existing headlight fuse.
I ran all the wiring in that flex hose stuff, so it's all really neat and "original" looking, no extra clutter. All connections soldered and heat-shrinked for reliability.
