If for nothing else that harness it worth it as insurance agianst the possibility of your light switch frying at the worst possible time. Somewhere in one of these "headlight upgrade" threads was a post of a switch failing in the middle of the night as he was cruising down a highway. No thank you.

I'm yet to get the harness, i had ordered it just before I posted. My bad for not being to clear on that.
That pic above is with the stock harness w/one sealed beam and one Cibie E-code w/55/60 Osram bulb. The impprovement was so vast that I felt no need to upgrade the harness, but it's now time. I"m tempted to get some higher wattage bulbs but that will have to wait till next check.

I have the Sylvania Siverstar sealed beams and I was disappointed in them until I installed the harness. Just get it done already.

OK, I'm going to order this harness... BUT
Seeing how many people have it and praise the amount of light, there isn't many pictures.
Please post some before /after pictures??

I'll be honest and tell you my main intention when deciding to get the harness was for better lighting. You know how inadequate they are. Especially the low beams. But after searching this forum and others and reading a number of posts about switches melting or just failing to work I decided to get the harness for safety sake. My wife uses the vehicle during the times of the yr when she leaves before daylight to get to work. Again being honest I didn't see a whole lot of improvement in the std lo beam lights but a big improvement the hi's. When I got and installed the SilverStar's was when the BIG difference came. I really do wish I would have done some before and after pics. HOPEFULLY someone will read the interest in some pics and do some.

I think that you have other problems that the harness. I have done the harness upgrade as well as a headlight upgrade and it was a simple really effective combination.
The harness upgrade is effective by itself because it brings full voltage and amperage to the headlights without the cable and switch loss from running everything all the way from the battery to the switch and then back to the lights.

I never had any issues before installing this harness...
and in that thread I took the advice of unplugging the fog light relay and it cured one problem, but now the fogs are disconnected.
cruiser54 and I are waiting for someone to chime in with the "easy" fix.

Before I bought the harness, I installed HIDs. I absolutely hated them, so I had stock lights put back in for a while. Then I installed the HD harness and the Autopal headlight housings. Tremendous difference! And now I don't need to worry about melting my switch, added bonus!

Alright I finally got the harness installed. Initial impression is that it appears brighter.
I have troubles though. It's like my highbeams are stuck on and if I put the high beams on the are the only ones on but with the lows on the highs are too. WTF??
Help.
