Headlights
I have a 99 cherokee and it seems my headlights don't put out a lot of light. The headlights are
farely new. What's my best option to get brighter lights ?

First off, clean the grounds for the headlights, and see how things look. The next thing is to install a relay kit, so the power for the headlights passes through a relay and not the headlight switch.

I'm sure you will get some replies but there are literally endless threads on this subject.
A search here and in Mod Tech will give you more reading than you can do in a week, maybe a month.

I got a Putco harness and sealed Sylvania Silver star headlights and am very pleased with them. Got all 3 items off of amazon for around 70-80 I think it was. One of my favorite mods. Very bright!

Will help some. But you can't just replace the bulbs unless you have swapped out the sealed housing for some H4 housings or what not.. The sealed headlights come with a bulb installed already that you can't change out, it just plugs into your connector. But highly recommend getting a harness. You'll be happy with the results

One thing with the Putco setup is that the relays that come with it aren't weatherproof!
They work great until the relays crap out and they don't have to be exposed to the elements to corrode. Both cars that I used the harness on had the harnesses in protected locations and were not exposed to wet situations.
I did the H4 and Putco upgrade to my Jeep and the harnass and 'better' bulbs wife's Caravan. I have had to put back the original wiring while I try to source better relays!
The relays, by number 804-1A-C1, seem to only be available from China and take 3-4 weeks for them to arrive up here so finding a better replacement is important!
SO if you use the Putco harness seal up the relays and order a couple of spares, they are cheap on eBay and Amazon.

It will help you fry your headlight switch faster. Do the Putco harness or build your own with relays, if you're electrically savvy, before ANYTHING else. It's what you need to do to correct your headlights.
I'm not sure of many relays that are listed as weatherproof? This is why you put them in a safe spot under your hood and use plenty of dielectric grease. Also, the relays are available at most parts stores but in my area they need to be ordered in. Search for BWD R4136.

I'd like to have at least one spare relay.

If you find a good source please post back with it. I just installed the Putco harness with Silverstar bulbs with very good results. I packed the connectors for the relays with dielectric grease and put a glob on the face of the connectors and pushed in the relays in.
