Default Headlights Turn Off When Using Turn Signal?

Hello, I have a 2000 XJ 4.0L. I have ran into a problem, and I cant find useful troubleshooting methods to figure out what would be making the headlights turn off when i use my right turn signal. When I use my left turn signal, they stay on, as they should. This happens regardless of the headlights being in low or high beam. I have replaced the headlight switch, but can not figure out if the problem might be the control arm in the steering column. I was also thinking that if the headlights and turn signals share a relay anywhere, that might cause an issue, if the relay were to be bad. Has anyone else ran into this issue before?

Any ideas on troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to become somewhat self reliant in vehicle repair, so would like to know how to fix the problem, but also understand how it is diagnosed. Thank you!
