I have no headliner in my 87 Cherokee. Can't find one worth while at any JY. Has anyone ever used another material or done something else to create a headliner board or replace the headliner board?

I DO NOT NEED INSTRUCTIONS ON WHERE TO FIND FABRIC/ADHESIVE OR HOW TO INSTALL. THIS IS STRICTLY ABOUT OTHER OPTIONS FOR THE HEADLINER BOARD.

i've seen people putting differnt material on there headliner... i just recently put on a newer headliner out of a 98 jeep into my 91........ looks dang good with the built in speakers in da back

One reason I hated not having a headliner was the sound. The acoustics and drone are terrible without it. You might try some of that Dynomat stuff, or whatever it's called that's used to dampen noise around subwoofer boxes etc. I think you can buy it with one side coated in adhesive. Lay it up like tiles and cut away the excess, might just work pretty well. Let us know what you decide to do, I've heard of repair and swapping them out from the junkyard but not too often do I hear of a literal alternative.
